An interesting question, and I'd like to know what you all think (I know what you think, Sue ): in the hospital scene, after Maddie has made her honest speech which I like very much btw) David seems to forgive her - of course he doesn't say it, but the way he acts, the way he extends his hand "C'mon" etc etc is his way of showing it. Now do you think that deep down he still held grudges? Or did he forgive her completely? I know that in Flesh (which I still have to re-watch) it looks like he's still angry at her, but maybe that's due to her behavior in the following time. I honestly believe that right there and then, in that labor room, after she laid her heart on the line, David has forgiven Maddie completely and was utterly ready for a new start with her.

I think when he went home and ha a chance to think he realized the full brunt of everything she did to him and maybe some of the anger and or hurt returned but I think when she was so nonchalant about him falling at her feet in Flesh is when the anger fully returned.

Well I'd have to rewatch Flesh (and I will tomorrow), but I think that's it - had she behaved differently in Flesh, had she truly shown her regret and not acted so - yes, nonchalantly is a good word, he wouldn't have gotten angry with her.
