While David is happy about finally having consummated the relationship, Maddie is feeling awkward and obviously having second thoughts. She suggests they make a pact it never happened and will never happen again, and against his conviction David agrees, but their attraction gets the better of them, and they just can't seem to maintain the pact despite Maddie's misgivings.
They are also involved in the case of an heiress whose father disapproves of her boyfriend. When the father is apparently killed, both his daughter and her boyfriend claim to have committed the crime in an attempt to save the other.
