Two questions: I wonder how David thought he would be able to continue working with Maddie after that scene in his bedroom?
I wonder if Maddie regretted making David her full partner after learning of his affair with Annie. I mean she had to do it to keep him close to her and then he goes and has an affair with her cousin.

Please fill me in - why did she have to do it to keep him close to her?

Two questions: I wonder how David thought he would be able to continue working with Maddie after that scene in his bedroom? I don't think he thought that far. We had a vivid debate about this scene on facebook the other day - I think he felt entitled to be angry at Maddie, and he thought she had no right to vituperate him. Thus he thought Maddie would simply have to put up with it, period. Or do you mean how it would affect him emotionally?

Yes how it would effect him emotionally. And her too. And I think she offered him the partnership to tie him to her but why did she do it in that particular episode I don't know...

Really, you don't remember that? LOL I'm relieved - means you don't rewatch season 5 that much huh?
Okay, how it would affect him emotionally? Of course it would have affected him, but still I think that he didn't think about that at all (which was your initial question, I believe) - in that moment I guess he really thought he was over them, he would be able to moving on.

No, I barely watch them but every once in a while I feel the need. LOL I'm not so sure that either of them felt that they were truly over and done with. The whole fifth season was so strange. One episode could be filled with promise and then we get WGC. It seems there are entire episodes missing. One between Yuk and COM..and def one between Perfetc and WGC.

Well I would like to think that too (that they didn't feel they were over and done with each other) - but I really think in that moment he felt like this. Or he thought so.

I think he did it mostly to spite Maddie. The way he struts into the office the following morning not even saying hello is tale telling lol. Come on he couldn't find another woman. He had to go with her cousin? Really!

What do you mean by "it"? The way he talked to her in the bedroom scene? Well, I have only the "isolated" view as I only watched the scene and not the episodes before of after, but I think in that moment he was really and truly upset and not calculating at all.

No after he spent the night out with Annie. He strutted into the office the next morning dressed in the same clothes. Maddie was in the outer office with Bert and Agnes and David just walked by them without evening a greeting. He was smug and when Maddie came into his office before she even opened her mouth his first words out were "Nothing happened." So why would he think she was going to say anything unless it was on his mind and HE WANTED her to be upset and bring it up. And of course as usual, she plays right into his hands.

Ah okay. You left the initial question then, but that's okay as we don't have restraining rules here Hmm, but he knew Maddie and how she would react, so I think it would be a normal thing to say "nothing happened" - but it could be of course. After how she turned him down on that dancefloor in WGC he surely was determined to show her that other women didn't think of him as low as she did, maybe.

Yes, I often wonder why she turned him down so quickly and the only thing I can come up with his her ending her session with the psychiatrist and telling her she wasn't going to get on that roller coaster again. Imagine having to go to a shrink to get a guy out of your system..surely NOT a pal.
