I love how comfortable David seems with Terry. She can see he is a good man and professes her feelings for him. David confesses he has feelings for her too. Do you think if Maddie stayed away longer he would have wound up with Terry (in our Moonlighting universe reality LOL)?

Eventually, yes. He could have grown to care very much for her, maybe even love her - but not in that passionate, all-consuming way he loved Maddie.

I've watched this episode yesterday, and the way David and Terri are with each other is really heartwarming. As he says: it's so easy to be with her, but in a positive way (easy like not complicated, not easy like it was easy to be with Annie ) They share the same sense of humor - I like when Nurse Bridges says to them she's glad they made it, and David replies something like oh well, unfortunately not yet; you can clearly see that Terri is totally comfortable with his sense of humor and not accusing him of being crude, lewd whatever. She is also willing to trust: David told her he'd go through with her to the end and be with her in the delivery room, and she took the risk and believed him. Then, her way of life: the line about everything in her life has to fit into her car, that is so David! Also, I love how (as you already pointed out, Sue) Terri is not afraid to profess her feelings for him (although it must have been much harder for her to put her heart on the line than it ever was for Maddie, because Terri knew that he was emotionally involved with another woman who might be having his baby!); that's why I love Terri so much: she's a down-earthed, caring, warm-hearted girl who's not afraid to show what she feels (and, of course, that encouraged David to talk about his feelings too without holding back). I mean -- look at her, she comes in, and instead of ranting about his lack of furniture, she makes herself comfortable on his bed. Can you ever see Maddie do that? Oh wait, yes, she did that... way too late. And, what's even better: when she's made a decision, she sticks to it (so she says) -- with much horror, I think of Maddie at the end of this episode when she packs and makes her speech to her parents, and you think that the penny has finally dropped, and she seems so determined to go home and work things out with David, but does she stick to that decision? No ma'am. She takes a detour over Vegas. I love when David tells Terri, that with them "it just clicked" and that he feels something back. I also love when she falls asleep in his bed, and he pulls the blanket over her and kisses her head. Yes, I think she could have made David happy had Maddie never come back or had she waited much longer. But, of course, even if Terri was perfect for David, that alone couldn't play the trick.

Which Maddie almost ruined! That scene in the hospital makes me angry. Clearly, Maddie can see that Terry is in pain and needs David yet Maddie's jealousy and selfishness (only thinking about herself) comes through loud and clear. How dare she tell David he owes her answers! He owes her NOTHING. Lucky Walter was there or the baby would have dropped to the floor. I agree with everything you said Sandra. Terri mirrored David perfectly.

Yeah in a way it was too late. David had enough of her shenanigans by this time and unless Maddie was willing to lay her heart on the line and stop playing games of hot and cold, yes and no it would never change. Maddie made a start with the 'ladder' talk and I know David was in his bitter avoidance stage in Season 5 but i think if she would have told him she still loved him and wanted to try he may have initially been scared but he would have come around. He still loved her.

You're right (ugh did I just say that AGAIN??) - the scene is funny and passionate from David's and Maddie's point of view, but yes Maddie is acting very selfish with regard to Terri. And agree, David owed her absolutely nothing.
