I just don't like the way David is avoiding Maddie in this episode. Even if she told him to stay away I cannot believe he would leave her to suffer on her own.The opening scene when Maddie is sorting laundry in the middle of the night and she comes upon that baby t-shirt is just heart breaking. He may have been grieving in his own way but I know that men do not grieve the same way as a woman who is carrying that child inside of her. And then he plans to go away for interminable time. He should have done that when she was married to Walter not now when she needed him. Just another instance of David playing ostrich.

Another proof of the invasion of the character snatchers... our David would never have acted like that, not in a million years. This was not yet a point where he was bitter with Maddie!

No he wasn't bitter and was not acting bitter. He wasn't coming into the office, avoiding her and even when they were in the same room refused to meet her eyes. It is the avoiding David that we have seen glimpses of not the bitter one of the last few episodes. I love when he says well you are always behind closed doors...and she retorts,,all with a doorknob. And then his avoiding talking about things when they are driving in the desert and she tries to talk to him and he deliberately picks up a hitchhiker so they can't talk. Avoidance. And I guess the ultimate avoidance was his planning a one way trip to Virginia.
