Just rewatched this episode and I can say that David was not happy that Maddie's her bodyguard was a tall good looking detective.
There were a few scenes in this one that showed David was with Annie either to forget Maddie or to spite her. Annie knew and asked him why he was so angry at Maddie and she didn't want to be in the middle. Why of why couldn't they just both admit they still cared!!! His look when he came to her door and asked "Aren't you going invite me in?" And she tells him no...uhgggg and her look when he leaves her in the rubble...ughhhh...so sad. Maybe if the show would have had a at least two more episodes they would have wound up together. They shoulddhave had a show showing David and Maddie working their way back to each other instead of Lunar Eclipse!!!

Oh this one is like a bitter pill to swallow! UGH The worst is the door scene ! my heart breaks when she wont let him in. Seriously this is what its come down to with them? it's truly like they are the enemies Maddie mentioned to him in his bedroom in WGC. But then when he leaves her in rubble is his way to get back at her maybe for not letting him in? Again how could he leave her like that to go home to some chick he just met. She needed to call after him and say please don't leave me alone. he would have stayed no? Yes one or two more episodes and they could have worked started to work things out. Annie had left. the next episode could have been them trying to talk to each other after Lunar Eclipse. They should of had last epsidoe be more of Bert and Agnes wedding maybe have them dancing together ?ARGH!

It doesn't even make sense. The real David wouldn't have left her like that. The writers didn't love their characters anymore, that's why they wrote them like this.

I agree. Even if David was in love with Annie (which he couldn't be since he knew her like less then a week) David would have stayed with her and made sure she was safe and taken her to the hotel. And the way she says something to him like 'thanks for coming' and he says 'that's what partners are for' the way she looks at him and says 'partners huh?" And then he kisses her on the FOREHEAD turns around and LEAVES..heartbreaking. I mean I know that Maddie hadn't always been nice to him and even in that episode she wouldn't let him in her house(I don't blame her) but he acted like a cold stranger. Yes, I cab see angry, bitter David getting back at Maddie by sleeping with Annie but he would never have left her in that mess.

And Rose I just read your comment about him not staying because he was getting back at her for not inviting him in..I also thought about that but then realized that would make him a very vicious and shallow man.
And how could Maddie call after him not to leave hr alone. I mean after he treated her so cruelly when he found her in his bed..and it just seemed so done between them at that point. The writers still could have fixed this. I just realized I've never read in any fanfic that David says he is sorry for abandoning her in that mess..Rose we must rectify this.

Damn those writers. That's why I'm really not interested in season 5. Because those are strangers. But I want to point out: saying that Maddie was "not always nice" to him, is more than an understatement...

Agree Sandra but no matter what she had done to him in the past he more than makes up for it in the last episodes. It seems there is a missing episode between Perfetc and WGM.. (All during Season 5 I could pretty much understand David's attitude...and Maddie's) but they were happy and friendly at the end of Perfetc and on their way to Paris and then WGC. I can't believe that just because Maddie didn't agree that they should dance together more often could turn him vicious so qucikly. And she did call them a couple LOL.

Yes very true Sue im sure it wasnt written that way for David to leave her on purpose. I think he just thought she didn't need him they were both so far apart from each other by that point but he could have offered to stay even if she turned him down too no?

And how was it written? For him to leave her by accident? He left. The end.

Agree Sue, that's why I blame the writers and why I don't care for season 5. Those estranged, spiteful people were not Maddie and David. They wouldn't have acted like that IMO

It wasn't like that throughout the entire season. It is just those last three (don't include the Agnes one).

Well they were not spiteful throughout the whole season maybe, but still, they were not themselves IMO - judged from the material I see on youtube and from what I hear people say about it. "Thank the girls for me"
