This is one of my favorite episodes for so many reasons. The competition between Maddie and David, the scene where David is trying to find a woman, and of course the beginning .."We're two single people. We owe it to ourselves to find something to do together." and the way he says "No pressure we can just go back to your house cover ourselves with some 90 weight motor oil roll around and see what we feel like doing....(her glare) Doesn't have to be 90 weight..
Almost every scene has something funny and clever. The chase scene at the end makes me die laughing every time.

And the scene in the car where she reads Tupperman's list and David keeps commenting on it what he thinks it means. Hilarious. Maddie's face is priceless.

Yes I love that scene too, and after he says that last line she actually seems to be amused at his joke, and his face when he says it takes all the crudeness out of it; it's clear he was joking, and she seems to be comfortable with it... love that! I'm not too wild about the ending, though... I always felt there should have been a kind of epilogue.

I always wanted an epilogue with them talking and flirting too. And of course he was joking and she knew it too. That devil. He does like to always put the idea out there...and in her head.

He's not lewd and crude in general though... mostly, when he acted like this, he did it to make her mad (which usually worked). We know that he can be very sensitive too when it comes to delicate subjects, we've seen that many times (and so has she), for example in Every daughter's father...
If he really was lewd and crude through and through, she wouldn't have fallen for him I think. She did see what was behind that rugged exterior.

I love David but he is a bit lewd and crude lol lol and it only makes him more loveable to me. I mean even if he was joking it was always a sexual joke, always an innuendo...it was HIM lol and yes he probably did it more to annoy her. Sometimes it worked but often she would just ignore him.

Agree with how you describe him. Still, I wouldn't call that crude, because to me crudeness isn't likeable (letalone attractive) at all, it's a completely negative attribute IMO but then maybe that's the non-native-speaker thing and my interpretation of crudeness is wrong.
