I disagree. I think she wanted that commitment and him not giving her the idea he wanted one was the hard part.

What kind of commitment? She didn't know what she wanted, I'm convinced. And sorry, if you say if that (meaning: working "too" hard) is what love means you prefer to live without love, then you're not grown-up enough or ready for a commitment whatsoever. JMHO

No, I think she knew what she wanted. She wanted David; but a David she could be certain would never grow bored or leave her. She wasn't sure he could be that man...

I think he means a marriage commitment. which i agree if thats the case. you don't go from business partners to ask me to marry you after first time we have sex. But if not then its a commitment of being with one person only which we know maddie wasnt the type to not be faithful but we think maddie thought Daivd couldn't be the one to commit fully that way no?
