You can see through David's speech to Terry when she comes to his house that he had started to question his commitment to Maddie and waiting for her. He tells Terry that he isn't rolling sevens on how Maddie can't even pick up the phone to see how he is doing...I don't know the exact words but David seems to be getting very tired of Maddie's need to think for such a long time. I think if she hadn't returned to LA right after this David would have decided to move along without her. Anyone else think this?

I must rewatch this soon, but I think you could be right. He was giving up on her and yes getting tired of her egoism.

I just rewatched all of season 4 in two days...summer lovin..and yes he did tell David he was questioning why he was waiting for her...'a woman who may not be even having my baby'...so he did consider the baby may not of been his before she even told him..

Just rewatched this one... wish we could transfer our facebook conversation here LOL a very bittersweet episode - I fell in love with Terri at first sight, and she would be perfect for David. They share the same sense of humor, many traits of their ways of thinking, I think. I love how he says that with her everything is so easy, and "it just clicked."
I don't miss Maddie in that episode and I admit I almost wish that she disappears to clear the path for David being with Terri, but then she makes that great speech to her parents about not caring who the father was but who is going to be the father - and that she doesn't hope to go through it alone; I get the feeling she starts to realize what she's been putting David through and that he might have gotten tired of her, tired of waiting.
I think his words to Terri were something like not even two minutes of her time to call and see how I am doing - when I look at his face it breaks my heart, it's sad and angry and tired and far, far away.

Yes, he seemed fed up with Maddie and more than a little interested in a woman who was interested in him.
