Anyone else feel the way David told Maddie he was leaving for Virginia (to take a class for a few weeks) was cold? He had to know she was hurting over the loss of the baby which had happened only 2 weeks before and now her partner, friend, and whatever else they were was leaving her alone personally and professionally for who knows how long. The look on her face says it all; biting her lip and holding in her emotions in her Maddie ice queen way..she should have said Don't go I need you but of course she was too proud and stubborn to put her heart and pride on the line for David.

Yes she should have started pounding her fists on his chest. 'She should have yelled at him that he promised her he wasn't going anywhere and now you're leaving for God knows how long to Virginia. Do you really need to take a surveillance course? And who is this friend?

No I don't think he was cold. I think he was hoping for her to open up and tell him not to go. Stupid!

Yes I think he may have wanted her to tell him not to go but after avoiding her for weeks I doubt she would. He should never have told her he was leaving that was cold sorry.

No matter what she did (if anything and there is no evidence she pushed him away) a man who loves a woman should have fought to stay by her side and see her through the loss of a child. She didn't have a miscarriage she was five months pregnant she had to give birth to a dead child. He was wrong. No matter how you slice it.

and please when she came out of the office and saw him he looked like a deer caught in the headlights. He wouldn't even look at her and then he was trying to worm his way out of going into her office to talk until I guess he must have seen how hurt she looked and he changed his mind. He knew what she was doing and why she was doing it. what did she need to tell him? That she was devastated over the loss of the baby? He had to be an idiot NOT to know that.

Waiting for Maddie to go to him? no way! she lost the baby he should have been banging down her door trying to be there for her. No man should sit back and wait for a woman to go to them after they lost a child. She was looking for him and asking for him and was let down cause he left her alone. She needed someoen to push her i think to open up . i understand david was devastated to but no more than maddie. maddie took all those caes cause she was alone. she should have nbever woke up alon at home. even if he slept in another room he should have been there . and him leaving for virginia was the worst timing ever.! no i dont think he was going to virginia but leaving for good or for a long time. Probably get drunk somewhere. maddie looked like she was going to cry in the car. should she have asked him to stay no he should have known better . if he was going to virginia he should have said hey come with me lets get away together for awhile and just be alone. maybe who knows .If Maddie wasnt sure she could depend on David through the years he helped confirm it here that she couldnt count on him to be there for her. Relax, girls. I didn't say she should have gone to him or that he was expecting that. Also, I didn't say she was wrong nor did I try to find any excuse, and I didn't even say she was pushing him away - which I can't see here at all. And I didn't say he was right to leave. He was not. Also, I didn't say anything about his behavior in the office which was indeed painful to watch. So, no need to be all over me LOL and act like I had tried to defend him or something.
To make it clear: He should never even have contemplated to leave. All I said here was (in answer to Sue's question) that I don't think the way he told her he was leaving was cold. I think he was sad. That doesn't make the fact he was going to leave right or better, and I never said so.

His timing was cold. Didn't he remember he promised he'd be there for her?

Not only was his timing wrong, it was wrong to leave at all. I thought you were asking about the way he told her.

As I said, leaving was wrong. I just see the difference between the message itself and the way it was conveyed and thought that's what you adked. For example, on the contrary, it was not exactly damnable of Maddie for example to tell David that she was married or that the baby wasn't his, as she was just telling him the truth (or what she thought was the truth), but the way she behaved when she told him, and her voice... chills!

I actually think he just came up with the idea in the car because he realized he was too uncomfortable around her and he couldn't keep avoiding her at the office.
