Okay let's not rant about her never-tiring attempts to get him to admit his hurt, his being upset. I don't have to say anything... you all know what I think about it I want to talk about her speech "if they close the book on us..." -- so sweet, isn't it? That could have been a really touching speech, I just find it shallow under these circumstances. Why does she make it? I mean, okay she finds the courage to say all this because she's safe now, married to that wonderful husband whose eye color she's not even able to tell, but what is her motivation to tell David all this? To make him hurt even more? I don't get it. Help me out?

I don't get it either. I mean she is married to another man so why is she saying IF they close the book on us and we never marry, never have a child..I mean book is closed honey you are married to another man! And you are right she has the courage to say these things to David cause she feels safe that she is married..but then what is the point of admitting to David they have this extraordinary relationship?? I don't think she is saying this to hurt him at all. Maybe she is saying this hoping David will tell her to leave Walter, that he loves her and they should try again? I don't know.

I was hoping you had an idea. Anybody?? No, I don't think she wanted to hurt him. But why would she hope for David suggesting that? I mean, you always said she couldnt marry David because she was afraid he would screw up, be unreliable and leave her. Did she change her mind from one minute to the other? Makes no sense. But Maddie mostly doesn't make sense...

Cause now she regretted it and realized how much she did love DAvid and maybe was willing to give it a try..You see she changed her mind in MHGM and Terri wasn't the only reason but that woke her up and made her realize her true feelings she says it to him 'When I saw you by the bed with Terri...'

Hmmm... not sure. If she REALLY had been hit by that realization she would have laid her heart on the line without using any codes - like she did in MHGM. Here she wasn't there yet.

Disagree. In MHGM, she did. Here she talked like it would never happen - from the safe point of view. She didn't say she loved him, she didnt say she wished the baby was his, and she didnt say she had made a mistake and regretted it, sorry.

She said IF they never married and IF they never had a child and to me she made it sound like they had a love like no other..that no one understood it but they knew it and felt it. She was still trying to get him to admit he was hurt she would never admit she made a mistake to David...yet. Stay tuned.

Yes that's true - but it sounded like she thought it was over, like she thought these things would never happen and she was somehow regretting that fact but not the fact that she had stepped away from them by marrying another man. So it sounds to me.

Oh, and I totally forgot to mention what also stunned me a big deal -- David showing again that he'd be going after her?? Or how do you interpret that line "as long as that doesn't mean I gotta stop trying"?? Is he really saying that he still will try to win her back? I don't get it at this moment - I mean, we've pointed out many times that David is easily forgiving and patient to the point of being almost "pussy-whipped" (as Sue always says - bottom line is he just loves her so much -- too much? But I digress.) But here, in this moment, with Maddie being so annoying from the moment she entered the office, pressing him to admit his hurt? I don't know, that seems too much for me, even for David. Was he being serious, was he determined there and then that he would still be trying to win her back?

I really don't know. Maybe he was just trying to shut her up? Because at the end when he puts the ring on her finger it does not seem he will keep trying.

I took it to mean of them being a happily ever after? It doesn't make any sense though. I think David did see this as a sign (which I also did) that she loved him and that they were meant to be together even if they are the only ones who know it. IDK in this car scene they were both confusing and maybe confused???

Maybe at that moment he was hopeful but then he did seem to change his mind at the end and in the subsequent episodes.
