In this episode you can see how much David has changed form the fun loving guy of previous seasons. He is quieter, more thoughtful and yes more cynical. Do you think this was all due to how Maddie treated him or did some of his changes take place due to growing up?

I dont think you can separate these things - what happened between him and Maddie made him grow up, don't you think? And he had to think about Terri too; it made him feel really bad for her that he was getting together again with Maddie.

Yes he did feel bad. I wouldhave loved to see him become the man he was without the cynicism and hurt though.

yes it was the new and not improved cynical, bitter hurt David created by Maddie HAyes and the loss of the baby.
