What do you think the real reason David was over an hour late to meet Maddie at the restaurant? Was he pulling his avoidance game hoping she would be gone when he got there? He didn't know it had to do with the case so maybe he was scared she would want to talk.

Hmm yes maybe he was, but the avoidance game doesn't make very much sense - think about the car "talk"; he obviously expects her to say something, to start a conversation.
But anyway, here he really should have said something - I mean, the clean slate speech is great, but he should have told her from the get-go Maddie, I love you and I want to try again, but we gotta take it slow because this time I'm the one who needs time - not time to mull things over, but simply time to heal.

But David never talks about his feelings! The clean slate speech is great but that was an angry speech. He needed to tell her exactly what you said..I stll love you but I need time.

Yes he should have. And as you always say - people change. He had the same difficulties talking about his feelings as she had, and I think that they both had matured. He definitely should have spoken up here, right from the start, and given her the chance to make it right, to show him that she understood. I blame him for that.

yes but here I can understand his silence since he had been hurt so deeply.

Really?? No, here I don't understand his silence at all! He had the chance to actually tell her how much she had hurt him - well, he had done that in MHGM. But he had the chance to make her really understand it - if he had the impression that she was taking the whole thing too lightly.

I think he wasn't sure what he wanted to say to her besides his Clean Slate speech. It just hit me (left a bruise) he told us in the scene in the car why he was silent. He wasn't sure if it would work between them. He wasn't sure if they belonged together.

Yes I know - alhough I believe that deep down he knew they belonged together. Just as she knew deep down too that he was a good man and wouldn't let her down. But I think he should have told her all that!
