While watching some old clips from Moonlighting on YouTube, I found out this comment here:
"The writers dropped the ball with Maddie...they turned her into a foolish woman who marries some guy (Walter) she meets on a train. I think the creator of the show didn't like Cybill at all."
Do you agree this maybe was some reason Maddie changed completely on Season 4?

Well, Cybill herself claims it in her book, that Glenn started to write her character in a very unpleasant way because he resented her pregnancy and wanted to "punish" her. I believe that it could be partly true, because how stupid could writers be?? I think by that time there were a lot of animosities on the set, so it's possible that the writers wanted to pick on Cybill. But that was self-destructive...

Yes I think they wanted to pick on Cybill too. I mean she turned into a lunatic after they boinked..all season 3 you can see how much she loves David and even during the Sam Arc she wanted him! Then she seemed to have gotten him..but then she started to question everything and she acted like a child.

And how ironic is it that in Man Who Cried wife she was angry that McGuiiicuddy got married to a woman that he only knew 3 days and then she goes and does the same thing! And how about her in Bride of Tupperman. 'A woman has only one wedding..one wedding day.' She sounded like it was very important to her..and then we get her marriage to Walter! And the way she was torturing David to admit he was upset was ridiculous!

It might be a random detail, but in Tupperman she speaks particularliy of the first wedding day, like a woman has only one first wedding day (paraphrasing, but about the content I'm sure; I recycled it in my own fanfic). She was talking like she didn't nevessarily believe in until death do us part.

Oh I disagree completely! She sounded very romantic. She meant it as a very special day in a woman's life!

Then why does she point out the first time? Sounds a bit odd for me.

It is just a figure of speech meaning a very special time that can only happen once.

Sorry but I disagree. Then you would say "A woman gets married only once" but not "A woman gets married for the first time only once"! JMO

Why would she say something like that? I don't think she meant that it wouldn't last. And I think if she meant it that way David would have picked up on it and said something about it but instead he says she seems to have put a lot of thought into it.

I don't know why she said it, but she did say it, and it has an odd ring to me. Surprising to come from her, though. Rewatch the scene and you'll see.

I just watched this one last week. She was all gushy. Anyone I never took it like that.
