Maddie believes that it is ridiculous for someone to meet someone on a Friday and marry them on a Saturday but in Tracks..we are led to believe that she thinks its fine to marry someone after 3 days..??

Well, that was certainly out of character. I mean, "let's gamble!", seriously??
I guess we are supposed to think that is all due to her confusion, fear, insecurity, whatever reasons she had to run away in the first place, to stay away for half an eternity and then in the end to marry a stranger on a train who, for all we and she knew, could have been an axe murderer.
Although her running away is explicable it always struck me as kind of not really in character for Maddie - usually, she wasn't the type who would run away from a problem. But the spontaneous wedding with Walter was surely the climax of her craziness (and not in a good way LOL)

Maddie was terrified over her feelings for a man she wasn't supposed to be with so I could understand stepping away from the tornado that was David but marrying a strange man to put another barrier between her and David is ridiculous.
