This episode gave us moonlighitng fans such hope that all would be well for maddie and David at the end of a long and painful emotional season for maddie and david and their fans. they had to have known maybe how they were going to resolve the beginning of season 5 by then no? if so why do that to fans? why show them looking so in love at end planning for their child to be born. The show should have ended here no?

Yes agree, everybody could have lived with that. With that ending and the re-found closeness we witnessed between them, all that what happened in season 5 (so I hear LOL) - their drifting apart after the loss of the baby, the pals crap, their spitefulness - seemed all the more unbelievable and out of character. Thank God for fanfic.

Yes they could have had that baby! It wasn't fair to them and to us fans! It was cruel!

Why did they let Maddie get pregnant in the first place if they planned for her to loose it..and not a few weeks miscarriage..She was almost 6 months pregnant..she would have head to go into labor..what a heartache! That was swept under the table after Yuk...

Yes i think it was also unfair to Cybill too who had just come back from having twins to go to play a character who loses her baby. If they didn't build up the end of season 4 so much woudl it have been less painfull along with having it happen at her baby shower! That was awful! It was a comedy /drama show but after this it became all drama for awhile . The show lost itself after season 4 ended.

I don't know. I would love to have dinner with Glenn and ask him what the hell he was thinking. And if he says he doesn't remember I will tell him he is lying..I mean how can you forget anything about your first big break..your baby. I mean I said it before and I will say it again. She was more than 5 months pregnant..it wasn't just a miscarriage. She had to give birth to a dead baby...and then to sweep it under the carpet is unforgivable. They should have spoken about it in the elevator in Yuk instead of singing bible hymns. That was totally out of character. And then never to mention the loss ever again...and I still say there seems to be an episode or some big scene missing between Yuk and the Color of Maddie..

Yes the fact that they were completely ignoring it was the crucial point that make it totally unbelievable!

Exactly..even when she made her "ladder" speech to David or all the times that he cruelly told her they talked things to death...when, where?

If they discussed the loss a bit more during season 5 maybe it could have been a bit better but to never bring it up again was dumb. I mean i know i don't want them talking every second about it but the writers should have never had it happen in the first place. Aa baby would have worked and created more storys for them.

Exactly..even when she made her "ladder" speech to David or all the times that he cruelly told her they talked things to death...when, where? I think by that he probably meant her endless thinking, contemplating, discussing, weighing pros and cons, where is the relationship going, why this, why that - instead of just trying it. Or do you think he was referring to them talking about the loss?

Well the ladder speech was about where they were in their "re;ationship" and how they may be on different rungs but they are working to get to the same one or something..it was the same episode as her pals speech LOL And I think he meant about their relationship talks and not the loss of the baby. I suppose truthfully if she didn't know for sure it was he she may have been under the impression that he wasn't broken up about the loss. I mean if it was Sam's why should he care that much. She probably tortured him to death with her where did this relationship go?..speeches and questions LOL

Well that's what I meant, and I guess that's what he meant. You asked where, when LOL you answered your own question she tortured him to death with her relationship discussion, yes!

Yes I posted ladder video on other thread. I didn't remember it was so provocative.
